Lifting Inspector

The Lifting Inspector is responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of lifting equipment and operations within an organization.

Role Purpose

This role involves conducting inspections, assessments, and audits to confirm that all lifting devices and operations conform to industry regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities include but not limited
  • Plan lifting operations and conduct thorough inspections of lifting equipment to issue the certificates
  • Verify that all equipment is in safe working condition and complies with relevant industry standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, and maintenance performed on lifting equipment.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports highlighting any deficiencies and recommended corrective actions.
  • Ensure that all lifting operations comply with local, national, and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA).
  • Analyze lifting operations to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Recommend improvements to enhance safety and operational efficiency.
  • Provide training and guidance to operators and maintenance personnel on safe lifting practices and equipment handling.
  • Assist in developing and implementing lifting operation protocols and safety procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to ensure effective quality control measures are in place and communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to address equipment-related issues and improve overall safety.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
  • Certification as a Lifting Inspector (e.g., LEEA, NSL qualification, NDT qualification is required (Level II Certification)).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make decisions based on findings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address equipment issues effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy objects, climbing, and working in various environmental conditions.
