Wireline Field Engineer (Cased Hole)

The Wireline Cased Hole Field Engineer is responsible for overseeing and executing wireline operations in cased hole environments, ensuring the safe and efficient completion of well logging, monitoring, and intervention activities.

Role Purpose

This role involves working closely with clients, drilling teams, and equipment operators to deliver high-quality services while adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.

Responsibilities include but not limited
  • Plan and prepare for wireline cased hole jobs, including equipment selection and configuration.
  • Conduct pre-job meetings and ensure that all crew members are briefed on the scope of work, safety protocols, and operational procedures.
  • Operate and supervise wireline logging equipment and tools in cased holes, including GR-CCL correlation, perforating guns and PLT.
  • Running gauge ring with junk basket, Cement bond log with different tools( RBT- Probe), pipe recovery services (RCT-tubing puncher-PTC-back off)
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Collect cased hole data during logging operations, including formation evaluation, well integrity assessments, and pressure testing.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of results to stakeholders.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies during operations, promoting a culture of safety within the field team.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to mitigate hazards associated with wireline operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during wireline operations, addressing any concerns and providing updates on job progress.
  • Provide technical support and expertise to clients to ensure their needs are met effectively and efficiently.
  • Supervise field crews and ensure compliance with operational procedures and safety standards.
  • Conduct training and mentoring for junior field engineers and operators on equipment operation and safety practices.
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, including job reports, equipment performance, and data collected during wireline operations.
  • Prepare post-job summaries and participate in debriefings to identify operational improvements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in wireline operations, specifically in cased hole environments.
  • Experience with various wireline tools and technologies, including logging and perforation.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to diagnose and address technical issues in the field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to present technical information effectively to clients and team members.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to facilitate teamwork and collaboration.
